When a Pet Is Family
For many of us, our pets are far more than animals. They are family, companions, confidants and a constant presence through the different chapters of our lives.
When they leave us, their loss can be profound. A pet memorial or celebration of life provides an opportunity to pause, acknowledge that loss and remember everything that made your companion so special.
There is no right or wrong way to say goodbye. Your farewell can be as simple, intimate or personal as you would like, and I will take the time to listen to your stories, learn about your pet's personality and the place they held within your family.

Creating Their Farewell
I can help you create a personalised memorial that reflects the unique personality and life of your much-loved companion. Your service might include:
- Their story and favourite memories
- Poems, readings or special words
- Music that holds meaning for you
- Lighting a candle
- Sharing photographs
- Family and friends sharing memories
- A favourite toy, collar or keepsake
- Planting a tree or flowers in their memory
- Scattering or placing ashes
- A symbolic farewell or remembrance ritual
- Including children and other family pets
Services can be held at home, in a garden, at a meaningful location or another suitable setting.
It Doesn't Have to Be a Formal Ceremony
A pet memorial doesn't need to be formal or attended by a large group of people. It may simply be you and your family spending a little time together remembering your pet. Or you may choose to invite friends and others whose lives they touched.
I will work with you to create something genuine, relaxed and meaningful, something that feels right for you and your family. There is no expectation for your memorial to look or sound a particular way. Together, we can create something uniquely theirs.

Grief looks different for everyone. Ongoing support provides a safe, compassionate space to talk, reflect, remember and heal at your own pace. After your complimentary consultation, choose the support that feels right for you.

A single 60-minute one-on-one session to talk, share memories and receive support in a safe, non-judgemental space.

Three 60-minute support sessions over one month, plus email support between sessions.

Specialised Training in Loss & Bereavement Support
I have completed specialised training in loss and bereavement support. While I am not a counsellor or therapist, I provide compassionate companion support and will refer you to a qualified professional if additional help is needed.
A Gentle Farewell at Home
I highly recommend The Gentle Farewell – Dr Simonne Stewart, who provides compassionate, professional at-home veterinary euthanasia on the Sunshine Coast. Dr Simonne offers a personal and private service, allowing families to farewell their beloved pets in familiar surroundings, surrounded by the people and other pets they love.
